As ACIA's CEO, Luke Westenberg lends his support to our member organisations within the aged care industry; a rapidly growing and changing sector, supporting high standards and long-term viability for the aged and ageing sector.
Luke embraces a considered approach having worked across all levels of government, as well as the community/not-for-profit sectors. He has worked with member organisations to respond and advocate for their particular issues arising such as aged care workforce issues, including representation, monitoring of regulatory environment and engagement with regulatory reviews.
He has senior management experience spanning over 15 years.
His background covers a diverse range of duties and responsibilities such as stakeholder engagement, project and program management, policy development, financial and data management and analysis, and communications. For example, he has worked on national policy initiatives including, management of budgets and financial reporting (to CEO, Board, Minister) for a government organisation's $579m national grants program, as well as leading the design and implementation of large national funding programs.
Luke's skills have been used across a range of subject areas, e.g. aged care, health and training and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs for the management of local issues and politics, including maintenance of relations with local South Australian, Federal and State Members of Parliament.
